"You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children." –Madeleine L’Engle
Author Bio
Ms. Ruiz is a born-again follower of Jesus Christ. She is a former accountant who was more than happy to step away from counting beans when God called her to write Christian fiction for middle graders.
She lives in California with her husband, son, and a stray cat who replaced their beloved cat Bella. She is a mother of three, a grandmother of one, and a godmother of two.
When she’s not writing, or reading, she’s playing with her grandson or baking cakes for her numerous family members. Her favorite cakes to make are character fondant cakes for children—everything from Disney to Superheroes to Star Wars. She once thought about opening a cake shop someday, but God reminded her of her childhood dream of becoming an author. Instead of baking cakes for kids, she gets to tell them about Jesus in her books!
She loves reading middle-grade books and classics. Her favorite authors are C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, Roald Dahl, Gordan Korman, and the Bronte sisters.
Hi! My name is Rosemary. I write under the pen name R.M. Ruiz.
When I started writing the Chosen Kids Saga in 2020, it was originally going to be a fictional short story about my nieces and nephews that I could read to them for fun. But God sent me in a different direction.
Some might say it’s too fantastic to write a story about kids who meet an angel, embark on a secret quest from God, hunt evil beings with everyday objects blessed with His power, hear guidance from the Holy Spirit, receive super strength from Jesus, or be transported by God in the blink of an eye. I say, miraculous stuff happens all the time in the Bible, so why not in a book series for kids?
I wrote this for young believers who want to read an exciting adventure about kids like them. Kids who are not perfect but have a heart for God. I wanted to give them an alternative to books that include magic and inner powers. My aim is to remind kids that our strength comes from Jesus. And even though this is a fictional story, God is real and we are chosen.

I love baking cakes and eating them! (It might be my favorite food) Except red velvet. It’s not chocolate, what is it?
-
I love Sci-fi, superheroes, cartoons, collecting action figures, toys, and other geeky stuff.

My husband and I met Stan Lee and took a photo with him. (After waiting in line for 3 hours!)

The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe is my favorite book. It inspired ten-year-old me to someday write a book for God. Little Women is a close second, and third place goes to The Hobbit. (Come on, I can’t pick just one.)
Statement of faith
I believe in one omnipotent, perfect, and Holy God of love who created the entire universe and every living creature in it. He wants only the best life for us and has a purpose for each of us.
I believe God sent His only Son Jesus to earth as a perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins. He showed us how to walk in love for all mankind. I believe Jesus died on the cross and rose again three days later. He is preparing a home for us that will last forever. Jesus is King of kings, Lord of lords, and Savior. He is the only way to the Father. I believe that if we put our faith in Jesus, ask for His forgiveness, and follow His teachings, we will be with Him for eternity someday.
I believe the Bible is the living Word of God to give us stories of hope, help us live righteously, be more like Jesus, and to love our fellow man unconditionally.
I believe the Father sent us the Holy Spirit to guide and care for us while we are here on earth. He is a friend who lives within every Christ follower.
I believe in the Holy Trinity—that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all God.
I believe one day Jesus will return and all of His followers will live in perfect harmony as God intended. Until then, He has called us to spread the Gospel to bring as many others with us as possible. And then we will all live in Heaven for eternity. Amen!
